The Friends Of Tatham Fells School

We would like to welcome you to the Friends of Tatham Fells School - otherwise known as the 'Friends'. As a parent of a child attending Tatham Fells School you are automatically a member of the Friends of Tatham Fells School - essentially the PTA. Members of the local Community who wish to support the school (governors, ex-parents, ex-staff, local residents) can also be members of the Friends. We are a registered UK charity.

The Friends is run by a Committee who are elected at the AGM each year. We meet as a group once each half term to plan upcoming events and activities and discuss ideas from the parents. The Committee meetings are open to all members of the Friends.

We send out a half-termly bulletin through school where you can see the events we are planning to hold and the help we need to make them a success. You can find our meeting minutes on the school website, on the Friends Noticeboard at school or you can receive the minutes of the Friends Committee meeting by e-mail (see contact details for the Friends Secretary below).

We organise a range of fund-raising events such as coffee mornings, catering at Wray Scarecrow festival, jumble sales and even our own Golf Masters Tournament at Bentham Golf Club to raise funds for the school whilst having fun as a community of parents. We also run family events such as a school disco, an Easter Bunny Drive and a cinema night as well as providing refreshments at the school's Christmas and summer performances. We use the money raised to provide equipment to the school supporting our children's eduction. We also fund school trips away from school - such as to Lancaster Castle, Morecambe beach and Bay View Garden Centre - designed to support our children's learning themes in school, as well as theatre trips to Lancaster.

There are many ways to help and get involved with the Friends. You are very welcome to attend Committee meetings - the more the merrier. We are always looking for help at our fundraising events and family events. As a general rule baking and raffle prizes are always needed. All help is gratefully received and any ideas you have are very welcome.

If you would like to know more about the Friends please contact the current Friends Chair Zoe Dixon or the Friends Secretary Hannah McGranaghan.
